From Consultant to HSEQ Team Manager: Meet Lena Klüver

With a strong technical foundation, broad operational experience and a clear passion for HSEQ, Lena Klüver brings both industry insight and people-focused leadership to her role as HSEQ Team Manager in Head Energy Denmark.

With a maritime background from an early age, Lena Klüver’s career path was almost written from the start.

– I am a trained marine engineer at heart. Both of my parents sailed – my father as a chief engineer and my mother as a telegraph operator – so in many ways, it was meant to be.

Lena has sailed with Maersk, worked offshore on drilling platforms within HSE, and built experience in offshore technical sales. Over time, her focus shifted increasingly towards wind energy and HSEQ. Along the way, she has managed consultants and ensured HSEQ standards across projects – from fabrication to installation – working with foundations, transition pieces and blades.

– I have always been fascinated by the HSE side of our industry. Over time, it has become a core value and a real passion, she says.  

From Consultant to Team Manager

Joining Head Energy for her first consultant role was a big step for her: – Even though I had managed consultants before, it felt different to step into that position myself.

What made the transition easier was the alignment in values, and the strong sense of belonging she experienced.

– Head Energy is a company that embraces people. I value the connection, the humanity, the drive and the collaboration. The best part of being a consultant here was the feeling of belonging to a company, not only to the project I was assigned to. That’s why it is so important as a consultancy firm to truly include your consultants. That sense of belonging matters.

It was this experience that shaped her decision to return to the company. Today, Lena has recently stepped into the role as HSEQ Team Manager in Head Energy Denmark, this time on the other side of the table.

Building a strong and motivated team  

– Being given the opportunity to influence how we care for and support our consultants, and how we help ensure success for our clients, is something I am proud to be a part of, she says.  

Returning to Head Energy felt like a natural next step.

– The company has strong potential and drive. We have built a solid team with deep knowledge within Marine, Logistics and Power. At the same time, it is a team of like-minded people, full of energy, curiosity, motivation and a good sense of fun. That made returning very attractive.

As Team Manager, her focus is clear:

– My motivation is simple: we grow people, we create impact, and we deliver excellence.

With that ambition, Lena looks forward to continuing to strengthen both consultant support and client collaboration within HSEQ in Denmark.
