Head Energy Solve focuses on young engineering talents
With a good combination of young, ambitious talents and experienced mentors, engineering company Head Energy Solve is building an environment that is rigged for great growth. Engineers Malin Wergeland (28) and Alexander Wolff (26) share their experiences from a workplace where professional development and social well-being go hand in hand.
“I find that we work well together and become good across disciplines. There is a low threshold for professional discussions, and it is easy to get into the environment we have here,” says Malin Wergeland. She is a piping engineer at Head Energy Solve, and has a background in HVL and a certificate in the sheet metal and welding industry.
Malin tells of a varied working day where the tasks range from modeling pipes and obtaining prices, to contact with subcontractors and inspections. In addition to the various tasks of everyday life, she also works on larger projects.
Varied working days with exciting projects
Of these projects, Malin highlights a study on the handling of VOC gas at the LNG plant at Melkøya. The VOCs emitted cause a significant health hazard to those in the vicinity, and the main goal of the project is to remove this emission.
“The study was particularly interesting to work on because it was completely new to me, and it involved high complexity and multidisciplinary collaboration,” says Malin.
Like Malin, electrical engineer Alexander Wolff tells of a varied working day: “I alternate between working in the office and offshore. Out on the platform, I work with inspections of possible projects, follow-up of ongoing projects, completion and testing. I like this variety — it gives me the opportunity to combine my practical experience with design work.
Alexander worked 4 years as an electrician before studying at the Technical Vocational School in Hordaland. In 2022, he started as an electrical engineer at Head Energy Solve and hasn't looked back since.
Social strengthening of the academic community
Alexander believes that it is not just the professional tasks that make Head Energy Solve an exciting place to work; the social environment also plays a big role.
“I really appreciate the social environment we have in both Head Energy Solve and in the Head Energy group in general. I felt welcomed from day one,” Alexander says.
The value of the social environment of Head Energy is also something Malin emphasizes:
“We have many initiatives that make it easier to get to know our colleagues outside of working hours, such as padel tournaments, running groups and training after work. It strengthens the bond between us colleagues which in turn creates a more inclusive and collaborative environment.
Alexander confirms this, adding that it is not only the organized events that elevate the social environment, but also the open culture of the company:
People get along very well socially here. This means that there is room for questions and that new proposals are welcomed.
A growing environment
Head Energy Solve is an ambitious company focused on growth and development, which is why in recent years we have been looking for more wise heads — both young and more experienced. The company believes that the social strengthens the professional environment, and this is reflected in how they combine professional development and well-being in the workplace.
“Head Energy is a forward-thinking company where young and more experienced employees work side by side with exciting projects and tasks. Through social activities, you get to know colleagues in the various companies in the Head Energy group. If you go into the job with the desire to learn and develop — and have fun on the road — we are in a position to do so, says HR Business Partner Janicke Stople.
