Head Energy expands its focus on engineering and consulting for grid and electric power plants. The subsidiary Head Energy NorGrid is now expanding with a branch in Oslo and has hired Anders Ballari as head of department.

Head Energy NorGrid was established in 2023 and is Head Energy Group's Norwegian division for consulting engineering services in the electric power sector. The company targets Scandinavian customers in the energy sector and currently carries out assignments for several reputable players. The initiative is now being expanded with a department in Oslo to be headed by Anders Ballari.

Ballari comes from the position of group leader power grid at Sweco and has previously worked with grid development and cable projects at Statnett SF. He holds a bachelor's degree in electric power engineering from HiST and a master's degree in renewable energy from UiA.

“Anders will be a key player in further developing and strengthening ourselves as a highly competent, consultative electric power environment. Anders is ambitious, professionally strong, and has the right practical experience from the advisory side,” says Head Energy NorGrid's General Manager, Kjell Idar Lavik.

“I look forward to helping to build Head Energy NorGrid's Oslo branch. The need to strengthen and reinvest in the power grid in Norway and Scandinavia is great. I believe we can help all actors involved in the online industry realize their projects. Together with the expertise we have across the entire Head Energy Group, we can also develop solutions that both meet today's requirements and facilitate the energy system of the future,” says Anders Ballari.

‍ Major market opportunities in the Norwegian power sector

Norway is at the forefront of a comprehensive electrification of industry, transport and oil and gas installations. At the same time, much of the power grid that was built in the 60s and 70s is ripe for reinvestment. This creates a significant need for the development, upgrading and strengthening of the power grid. Increasing consumption of electrical energy also means that an increasing proportion of renewable energy needs to be integrated into the energy system, which places great demands on flexibility, operational reliability and technological expertise.

Here, electric power engineering and high-voltage engineering play a key role. The demand for consultants with experience of complex projects and the ability to combine technical quality with sustainable solutions is growing rapidly.

“We see that in the future the market will be characterized by a great need for renewal and capacity increase in the power grid. For us, it's about being a partner who combines strong professional expertise with the ability to deliver on demanding projects. With the Oslo establishment, we further strengthen the team and our position,” says Kjell Idar Lavik.

Head Energy NorGrid is thus well positioned to meet the future needs of the power sector. With solid expertise and a local presence in both Bergen and Oslo, the company wants to be a key contributor in the development of the power system of the future.
