From instrument technician to consultant manager

Working with people was not the obvious path for Tobias Eriksson.

After training as an instrument technician, he started working as an instrument designer. Over time, his career took him on to larger EPCM projects, where he worked with document control, project planning and resource responsibility, among other things.

That is where he discovered what really motivated him:

– I realised that I had a passion for planning and coordination. So three years ago, continuing my development as a consultant manager at Head Energy was a natural step.

Where technology meets people

Today his working days combine planning assignments with matching client requests and consultants.

A large part of the job is about understanding clients' needs, finding the right expertise and building long-term relationships with both consultants and clients.

– I keep up to date with our clients to pick up on resource needs, and I am constantly looking for new candidates and new clients where we can contribute.

The little extra makes a difference

For Tobias, good leadership is not about always having the answers. It is about being able to listen, understand the situation and adapt.

– Trying to understand the other party and being attentive means you can act in the best possible way.

The same attitude shapes how he wants to work with both clients and colleagues.

– I think you should always be service-minded and do that little extra that isn't always expected.

It's the people who make the job

The best part of the role is meeting people. Helping clients while following the consultants' development is what gives him the most energy day to day.

– I appreciate the opportunity to get to know so many knowledgeable people. It feels especially meaningful when I can contribute to the development of both our clients and our consultants.
