Working on documentation for Norway's first unmanned production platform
Kathrine Mathisen has been working as a consultant in Head Energy since 2023. With over 20 years of experience in document control, she now contributes valuable expertise to a project that places high demands on structure and precision.
Today Kathrine works as a Content and Data Specialist in the MUNIN project, which is part of Aker BP's Yggdrasil development. With Yggdrasil, Aker BP sets a new standard for operations with remote-controlled operations, unmanned installations, new technologies, digitalization and new ways of working. Munin is an unmanned production platform, the first of its kind on the Norwegian continental shelf. The platform is being built without a helicopter deck, living quarters and lifeboats. Access to the platform will be through planned campaigns and support vessels.
In the Munin project, Kathrine is part of the team that handles the documentation flow. She is hired to Aker BP, with daily work space at the contractor Aibel, and helps ensure that information flows correctly between all actors.
“When the platform is to operate without people on board, everything must be planned and carefully documented. We're talking about 50,000 documents that need to be handled properly, which makes the job extra exciting,” says Kathrine.
She describes the project as the most interesting thing she has been a part of during her career:
It's both groundbreaking and complex. We are working on new ones with a focus on digitizing documentation, tools and work processes. I work with highly skilled professionals and have access to some of the best IT systems in the industry. It makes everyday life both challenging and rewarding.
The consulting life provides flexibility and professional development
Kathrine has been part of Head Energy since 2023, and describes the consultancy role as a lifestyle that provides both freedom, security and personal development.
“I have children and I am active in dancing, and I travel a lot in connection with competitions. As a consultant, I have the flexibility to make it go up,” Kathrine says.
She highlights Head Energy as an employer that combines professional follow-up with a good work environment.
“Head Energy follows me closely, sends me messages and asks how it's going. It makes you feel seen and cared for. When I need something new or want a change, I know I have someone working for me and my needs. In addition, there are nice people who often arrange social gatherings and make an effort for us consultants to thrive.
Head Energy has attractive customers
Another important factor for well-being is the ability to work on large and complex projects:
Head Energy has attractive customers. This gives us consultants the opportunity to contribute to large and exciting projects, of which Yggdrasil is an example. It provides both professional development and an everyday life that is both challenging and meaningful.
