New Rogaland Theatre and Stavanger Museum

Through key roles in previous positions, Head Energy employees have contributed to the development of the new Rogaland Theatre and Stavanger Museum at Kannikhøyden.

Our scope (through previous positions): project management, design management, cultural heritage advisory  

The construction and development project at Kannikhøyden is a strategic collaboration between Stavanger Municipality, Rogaland Theatre and MUST (Museum Stavanger). The aim is to develop a new, combined theatre and museum complex that meets the need for modern, functional premises while rehabilitating the historic buildings in the area.

The project will provide future-proof production and public areas, strengthen the interaction between the cultural institutions and help develop Kannikhøyden into an open and accessible cultural and urban space.  

Through previous positions, Head Energy employees have held key roles in the project in project management, design management and cultural heritage advisory. This included overall responsibility for managing and coordinating the entire construction and development process – from the early planning phase and concept development to running the architectural competition.

The role involved strategic advice to the client, coordination of designers and specialist teams, follow-up of progress and quality, and safeguarding cultural heritage considerations in the interplay between new buildings and existing buildings worthy of preservation. We also contributed to developing the space and function programme for the architectural competition, as well as museum expertise.  

The project is ongoing.
